The best senior in her class...shocking!!!

Today UConn Sr. All-American Maya Moore also took home the 2010-11 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award as the most outstanding senior in the Class of 2011. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. Moore was recently honored by the College Sports Information Directors of America as the Capital One Academic All-American of the Year. She is involved with Athletes in Action and has attended numerous leadership conferences through the organization. She is also a gifted musician. Moore has been involved with the Children’s Hospital, helping with a teleconference to raise money for sick children as well as visiting children several times. She also volunteered at head coach Geno Auriemma’s charity golf tournament and has helped the Salvation Army.
