Moore was named Big East Freshman of the Week today for the Big East record-breaking 8th time this season after averaging 19.5 ppg and 6.0 rpg while helping UConn to a 2-0 record in the Big East for the week. Moore broke fellow Husky Rebecca Lobo's record of 7 Freshman of the Week honors. I guess you can say now we will all be sitting on pins and needles waiting anxiously to find out who will win the 2007-08 Big East Freshman of the Year award.

For the 3rd consecutive year UConn has the National HS POTY. 6'4 SG Elena DelleDonne, a UConn signee, was named the 2007-08 State Farm/WBCA National HS Player of the Year. She was also named to the 2007-08 WBCA HS All America team along with fellow UConn signee 5'11 SG Tiffany Hayes and will play in the WBCA HS All America game during the 2008 NCAA Women's Final Four in Tampa, FL on April 5, 2008. Fellow UConn signees 5'10 PG Caroline Doty and 6'4 C Heather Buck were WBCA HS All America honorable mentions.

Thomas was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District I First Team today for boasting a 3.52 grade point average while majoring in business. This marks her second consecutive CoSIDA Academic All-District I selection, after earning second team All-District I recognition as a junior. Thomas is now eligible to be named to the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America Team, which will be announced Tuesday, Feb. 26.
