The second half of the 2010-11 Big East Awards (aka the major awards) were announced today at a news conference. The nation's #1 team sweep today's awards. UConn Sr. All-American Maya Moore was named the 2010-11 Big East Player of the Year (unianimous choice) and the 2010-11 Big East Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Moore was also named the 2010-11 Big East Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year (all sports). UConn Fr. Bria Hartley was named the 2010-11 Big East Freshman of the Year. UConn Head Coach Geno Auriemma picked up another COTY award as he was named the 2010-11 Big East Coach of the Year for the 4th consecutive year.
