Summary: UConn All-American Maya Moore played like it tonight as she scored 30 points, leading the Huskies to a 65-64 victory over Baylor. She added 7r, 2a, and 6s as well. Tiffany Hayes chipped in 16pts. and 4asts. Down the stretch, freshman Bria Hartley was the game-changer for the Huskies as she tallied eight of her nine points, hitting two 3-pointers and connecting on a layup in the final 3:56 of the contest. Her second 3-pointer gave UConn a 63-60 lead with just over two minutes to go before Jones' made field goal and then Moore's late jumper. With the game on the line in the final minutes of tonight's contest, Moore hit a jumper in the lane at the 1:16 mark to give UConn a 65-62 lead. Baylor missed its next attempt down the floor but grabbed the rebound to set up a Melissa Jones' layup to bring the Lady Bears to within one. With seven seconds on the clock, Moore missed a jumper as Jones grabbed the rebound but Baylor could not get a shot off before time on the clock expired, giving UConn the one-point victory. Tonight marked the 15th time UConn has played in a game featuring the top-two ranked teams in the Associated Press top-25 poll. With the win, UConn moves to 13-2 all-time in those games and now is 10-1 when ranked #1 in the country in those contests.
