Summary: Led once again by All-American candidate So. G Bria Hartley, UConn easily handled (embarassed is more like it) North Carolina, 86-35. Hartley scored 17pts. to go along with 3rebs., 8asts., and 3stls. while Fr. C Kiah Stokes came off the bench to record her 1st career double-double with career-highs of 11pts. and 11rebs. The 51-pt. defeat was the worst loss in Tar Heel history and it might have been worse if UConn Head Coach Geno Auriemma didn't pull most of his starters early in the 2nd half. No one on UNC scored in double figures whereas the Huskies finished with six.
