UConn easily defeated Florida State 93-62 in front of a sold out crowd of 16,294 at the XL Center on Tuesday night. The Huskies topped the 88-game win streak by John Wooden's UCLA men's team from 1971-74, which they tied on Sunday, Dec. 19 in an 81-50 victory over Ohio State. With tonight's win, UConn improves to 11-0 on the year and extends its home win streak to 69 consecutive games to tie the mark held by its own program (2000-04) and Tennessee (1991-96). Moore was 15-of-24 from the floor and 10-of-11 from the charity stripe as she netted 41 points in 38 minutes. Her 15-made field goals were also a career-high, while her 10 rebounds on the night gave the senior her 43rd career double-double. Fr. Bria Hartley finished the game with a career-high 21 points as she hit 5-of-6 attempts from three-point land. Jr. Tiffany Hayes handed out a season-high seven assists, while adding 14 points.

What is the big deal here? Women beat a men's record. A record they could never beat if they played teams at the same level as the worst men's team in the Big 12 or any conference..... I just think this is wrong... This is taking away from a team that really earned the record, but I see they had more than 12 people in the stands for this game. Just wrong......

Jared - I feel sorry for you that you feel the need to downgrade such a wonderful accomplishment by the UConn Women. Even John Wooden's grandson went to the game to show his and his family's support. The two streaks are NOT comparable, but they are BOTH extraordinary. You are entitled to your opinion, but whether you like it or not this game was a BIG DEAL!
