Summary: UConn All-American candidate Fr. F Breanna Stewart scored 17 points to lead the Huskies to yet another route in the Paradise Jam tournament. This time it was a 91-57 rout of 14/12 Purdue in the championship game. All-American candidate So. W Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis added 15pts. for UConn before leaving with just over 2 minutes left after taking what appeared to be an inadvertent elbow to the head. The defending Big Ten champions were blown out despite shooting 13 of 22 from 3-point range. The Huskies had four players in double figures and dominated inside, outscoring Purdue 46-8 in the paint and blocking seven shots. Stewart was named the 2012 Paradise Jam Tournament MVP (2nd freshman to win, the other Maya Moore) while KML was named to the All-Tournament team. Connecticut has won 49 straight games in regular-season tournaments, dating back to December, 1992 and a loss to Vanderbilt in the Hilton Head Super Shootout.
